Grade 8 and 9 Course Selection Forms

Grades 8 and 9 students will need to submit their course selection forms to the HS Counselling Office this week. We will begin scheduling students as early as 1 April. Full course descriptions are now online on our ICS Website, here. You may also download the document as a pdf. Please consult them and use the planning form to guide you through your choices. If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer Park, Grade 9/10 Counsellor, who will be more than happy to assist you.

Progress Reports

Second semester Progress Reports were sent to all parents in the High School on 29 March. The Progress Reports are internal reports, whose purpose is to inform students and parents of current academic standing. The reports provide an opportunity for parents to discuss their children’s performance and to set goals based on their teachers’ feedback. We hope that they will also provide discussion points for you to bring to the Parent-Teacher Conferences, which take place 5, 7 and 8 April. Please take the time to review the reports and speak to your child about them. If you did not receive a Progress Report, please contact the High School Office.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher Conferences (PTCs) will take place on 5, 7 and 8 April this year. The PTCs bring students, parents, and teachers together to develop a better understanding of student learning challenges and opportunities. Parents will be able to make appointments with teachers online and then save and/or print an individual schedule. Meetings will be restricted to ten minutes in duration and we ask everyone to make every effort to follow the schedule once it has been determined. If you would like to speak with teachers for more than ten minutes, please schedule a meeting at a time outside the PTC venue. More detailed information about our online appointment booking has been sent out. Please contact the HS Office if you require further information or if you have any trouble booking an appointment.

Early Dismissal

Please note that students will be dismissed at 11:35 on Thursday April 7 and Friday April 8. Parents are asked to plan accordingly and to collect their children promptly.

Please continue to read the weekly Yezare Samint for important information regarding our high school program, and please don’t hesitate to contact me  for any matter pertaining to your child’s education.
