Grade 10 STEAM Projects
This week, Grade 10 students spent two days participating in “Week Within Walls” activities. These days are designed to focus on problem-based and project-based learning, crossing between disciplines and giving the students learning experiences which are different from their traditional class activities.
Grade 10 students got to work on integrated STEAM activities, combining Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. The students worked in small groups on a project of their choosing, going through the Engineering Design process to investigate and plan a solution to a problem or challenge. Projects crossed borders between subjects: combining Biology and Visual Art to represent environmental adaptation of a cuttlefish, combining Mathematics and Geography to collaborate with students in Ghana to measure the circumference of the Earth, and many more.
