Grade 8 Transitions Event
It's hard to believe our Grade 8 students will be getting ready to leave us in just a few short months to take that next step in their educational journey: high school. This is an important time for students in the middle school as they begin to make that transition into next year's grade 9 class. There will be an information evening for parents of 8th grade students on February 13 at 6pm in the Upper Commons with High School counselor, Alicia Brown and High School principal, David Redmond. Please save the date and plan to attend this event where high school leadership will explain the course selection process and what to expect as a parent of a grade 9 student.
ICS takes you children's health very seriously, please be aware of exposure to sun at this time of year.
The PE teachers would like to involve you, as parents, in the reminders that they have been passing on to your child since the beginning of the year. As a matter of good practice every student is asked to wear full ICS PE uniform to class, we also ask that a hat, sun screen and a reusable water bottle be incorporated into your child’s PE Uniform. We also encourage sun shirts and for girls, sun leg-ins to be worn underneath the ICS PE Kit, should your child possess sport sun glasses please wear them. (Please note fashion sun glasses are not appropriate for doing activities in and could easily get damaged).
The teaching and learning continues; "please be sun savvy at this time of year; drink water, slip slap slop and cover up, be sun smart...."
