MS students in all three grades took part in the Common Writing Assessment (CWA). The data from CWA is used by teachers to ensure that every student is receiving the support they need to grow in their writing skills over the year. Next week's community time is extended advisory during which students will be able to sign up for their ASAs.
Map testing begins next week on Tuesday for grade 6, the MAP assessments are not tests and children do not need to study for it but they can prepare for them by getting a good night’s rest and bringing a nutritious snack to school. The data from MAP is used by teachers to ensure that every student is receiving the support they need to grow in reading and math over the year. Grades 7 and 8 will complete the MAP tests on 29 and 30 August.
Potluck and Back to School Nights
Tonight is the Potluck and Back to School Night for grade 6 parents. We hope to see you all at 6:30 PM in the upper commons. Students are invited to the Potluck. Next week on Thursday 25 August, parents of students in grades 7 and 8 are invited to a Back to School Presentation where they will hear about the program and meet teachers. Students are NOT invited to this event.
The middle school supervised study hall will begin on 22 August and will be in the upper commons on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. On Wednesdays, as all faculty and staff are involved in professional learning activities beginning at 2:20 PM, we will not have a study hall and students must exit campus by 2:15 PM.
