Wednesday during our last block and Community Time, students will participate in the Common Writing Assessment. This assessment helps measure student growth in writing since the beginning of the year. Students will go to their advisory classes and complete a piece of writing according to a prompt they will be given. We're looking forward to seeing how our young writers have developed over the year! Next week, Ms. O’Hare’s advisory will be presenting a student-led assembly for the whole middle school.
GAUSS Math Contest
Friday 13 May, many students in the middle school will take part in the GAUSS math contest organized by the University of Waterloo (Canada). Students will answer 25 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes and are competing with students from all over the world. Top achievers in grades 7 and 8 will be recognized both by the university and by our school in an upcoming assembly.
Thursday night was our culminating concert for both band and choir beginning at 7:30 PM in the Gymnasium. This year's concert is called "A Musical Passport" and our student musicians will be taking audience members on a journey through space and time around the world. We are so proud of all our musicians this year and how much they've accomplished!
