The International Community School of Addis Ababa is hosting the Building a Learning Culture in International Schools: PLC at Work Institute with Anthony Muhammed.

International schools around the globe share a common vision: success for every student.

In this session, we will go beyond ‘teamwork’ to true collaboration. Professional Learning Communities commit to collective efficacy to enhance student learning. However, many schools have struggled to implement PLCs within a more dynamic International school environment, especially those that are heavily focused on the PYP and feel the collision of priorities.

Learn one school’s story of enhancing their primary years’ program through the collective efficacy of collaborative teams. This institute will give practical examples to enhance and support your school’s program of inquiry. Presenters are contributing authors of the anthology and come with direct experience in the topic.

The Learning Strands will include School Culture, PLC, PYP, and Personalized Learning.

By participating in this institute, participants will:

• Discover how to use the four critical questions of a PLC to create a system of continuous improvement.
• Discover how to instill and imprint these key components into your school’s culture
• Examine beliefs, protocols, and cultural competencies to ensure equity for all students.
• Examine how to personalize learning through student agency
