Scholarship Endowment

Through the International Community School of Addis Ababa Education Foundation (ICSAAEF) community members can donate to the Scholarship Endowment.   The ICSAAEF is a registered 501c non-profit in the U.S.  American citizens are able to donate tax-free.

The goal is to develop the long-term Scholarship Endowment to support and sustain the ICS Scholarship Program for years to come.

Back on Track fundraising -- A BIG THANK YOU!

In 2002, ICS built a state-of-the-art rubberized, cushioned track, the only one in Addis Ababa. The track was dedicated to Haile Gebrselassie in a special ceremony before we broke ground. The new track was built to last in its original location, and it proudly bears Gebrselassie’s name today. Today, the ICS Haile Gebrselassie Track remains a hugely popular community destination that links fitness, high-level competition and relationships within the ICS family and beyond.

However, our track has been lovingly cared for 16 years but needs some more significant maintenance.

To get ‘Back on Track’ and to serve our community for decades to come, ICS resurfaced the existing track. We reached out to our community to raise funds to help with the subtle changes of beautification, coaches platform and other smaller enhancements.

We raised over $5,000 for the beautification.  We want to thank the following donors for your support!

ICS Focus on Service

The ICS Focus on Service Group is run by grade 11 students, whose mission is to support meaningful service learning projects run by students at ICS.

The FOS Group has established a FOS Group Fund that is available to any ICS student group that needs financial support to get their project up and running. This fund will grow from the proceeds from the Annual Walk & Run and CAS Fair, as well as from donations from the ICS Community.

The FOS Group will review and approve grants based on the following minimum requirements:

  • A clearly articulated demonstration for need
  • The service project goals/outcomes have to be measurable.
  • Established leadership - must be clear as to who is accountable and for what.
