Girl Rising film screening - Sponsored by Grade 8

Grade 8 is hosting an outdoor film screening of Girl Rising tomorrow, Friday 22 April from 6:45 - 8:30 PM in the large amphitheater. Girl Rising is provided by, a movement which supports girls’ education on an international level (MY Sisters and LinkEthiopia in Ethiopia) 

This screening is a fundraiser for their Week Without Walls project.  Grade 8 partners with the CCC Children's Home in Sodo, Wolaita, and based on one of this year's most-voted for proposal by Esther Trogemann - they are providing funds for an after school tutor for the students at the home.

The film is rated PG-13/12+. Girl Rising is a global campaign for girls’ education and empowerment.

They use the power of storytelling to change the way the world sees and values girls. Together with partners, they will launch high profile campaigns to bring visibility to the issues girls face and inspire people to dismantle the barriers that hold them back.

Ticket prices will be 50 birr for students of grades 8 - 12 and 100 birr for adults (18+) with proceeds being equally shared between grade 8 WWW CCC and

Maria Zandt from will be present at the screening to introduce the film and host Q&A afterwards.

Scholarship Club Annual Garage Sale

This year the annual garage sale supporting the scholarship club will be on Sunday 8 May.  This year the event will be limited to the ICS Community only.  No ICS ID, no entrance.

Scholarship Gala--21 May 2016

The annual Merit Scholarship Gala will be held at the Millennium Hall from 7:00 PM.

Scholarship Gala tickets sales have started! You can buy your ticket during working hours Monday - Friday from the main reception in the Administration building. Additionally, tickets will be available at the ICS Booster Club Farmer's Market tomorrow, Friday 22 April.

This year the Scholarship Gala will be held at the Millennium Hall on Saturday 21 May from 7:00 PM.  Our Night of Dreams includes a drinks reception, dinner, dancing and an auction of amazing items including coffee with our honored guest Ato Haile Gebreselassie, paintings from nationally renowned Ethiopian artists, safari trip packages in South Africa, hot air balloon rides, beach resort packages, air-tickets to Dubai and much more!   

Tickets will be on sale for 1500 birr. Tables are also available for 15,000 for up to 10 people.

The Merit Scholarship Gala began last year, capping off our 50th Anniversary celebrations.

The aim of the Gala was and continues to be to:

  • promote volunteerism
  • build community
  • build relationship with corporate sponsors
  • promote and raise funds for the ICS Merit Scholarship Program
