Welcome to our Library – an inviting and busy place on our campus!
The ICS Library is considered a community resource and is open to all students, faculty and staff daily. Families are welcome to come and use the library before and after the regular school day or to pop in for check-out-only during the school day. By providing access to dynamic collections, effective tools, and flexible learning spaces, both physical and virtual, we aim to enrich, educate and empower all community members.
The goals of our instructional program include instilling a love of reading and fostering information literacy skills. The Library also sponsors a number of special events during the school year including author visits, reading incentive programs, Nile Book Award, Children's Book Week celebrations, Teen Read Week, Poetry Month, and Book Clubs.
The library offers a great selection of print and digital materials that are updated annually. All resources can be accessed through our online catalog at HERE.

"ICS has the best school library I have seen. They have a great selection of books, suitable not just for the kids but also for parents." Lili- ES Parent
Diversity Month at ICS:
- Please also stop by our MS/HS library for the very special Empathy Museum where you can listen to story snippets and discover what it would be like to live in another person's shoes. ES students will be writing poems about empathy, different points of view and inclusion. These poems will be on display throughout the school later in the month.
- We have many wonderful books to support this year's theme, "We All Have a Story". A select booklist can be found HERE so stop by and check some out!
Each year we have exciting celebrations of reading and writing. In the past we have hosted such award-winning authors as David Greenberg, Ishmael Beah, John Coy, Helaine Becker, Bruce Coville, Nicola Davies, Poetry Alive, Jane Kurtz, Margriet Ruurs, Vicki Grant, Matt Smith, Candace Fleming and Eric Rohman!
Mara Menzies, a Kenyan/Scottish storyteller visited ICS in February, 2019. We also hosted AISA Librarians Forum in February.
