Our Program

At ICS Addis, we believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom. Our robust extracurricular program offers students from Early Years 5 to Grade 12 a diverse range of opportunities to explore their interests, develop new skills, and engage in meaningful experiences. Whether it’s through athletics, academics, the arts, or service, ICS Addis provides an unparalleled environment for students to thrive and connect with their community. Go Eagles!

 

After School Activities

Beyond athletics, ICS Addis offers a wide array of after-school activities that cater to a broad spectrum of interests. Students can engage in academic clubs, artistic endeavors, and service projects that allow them to explore new passions or deepen existing ones. From robotics, coding, and debate to drama, music, and visual arts, our programs are designed to inspire creativity and critical thinking. Service clubs provide students with the chance to make a positive impact in the community, fostering a sense of responsibility and global citizenship. There are more than 200 activities available to students over the course of the school year.

 

Athletics

Our athletics program is designed to encourage students to develop physical fitness, teamwork, and leadership skills. With access to state-of-the-art facilities, including a FIFA-certified soccer field, an upcoming aquatics center, a sports pavilion, a fully equipped gymnasium, and a track, our students have the resources to excel in a variety of sports. From soccer, basketball, and volleyball to swimming, tennis, and track and field, there are opportunities for all skill levels to participate, compete, and grow. Students who compete at the varsity level have the opportunity to travel to our end of season ISSEA Tournaments, competing against eight other school

 

Arts

We celebrate the arts as a crucial component of a well-rounded education. Our middle and high school students have the opportunity to immerse themselves in vibrant music, visual arts, and drama programs.

  • Music: Students can join bands, choirs, and orchestras, or explore individual pursuits through lessons and ensembles that cater to various skill levels and musical interests.
  • Visual Arts: From painting and sculpture to digital arts and photography, our visual arts program encourages students to express themselves creatively and explore different mediums.
  • Drama: Our drama program offers students the chance to perform in school productions, develop acting skills, and participate in theater workshops, fostering self-expression, confidence, and collaboration.

 

Academics

Students have access to wide range of extracurricular academic opportunities through our Activities program, as well. Our Model United Nations team hosts major conferences at UN buildings in Addis Ababa and regularly have exchanges with students from other schools. Our STEAM team competes within the ISSEA conference, just like our sports teams, against other international schools in areas like robotics, engineering, mathematics, and science. There are also after school activities like coding and gardening, which allow students to carry on or push beyond the work they are doing in their classes.

Arts & Athletics Beyond Addis

As a proud member of ISSEA (International Schools of Southern and Eastern Africa), our varsity athletes and artists have the unique opportunity to travel to other schools within the conference, where they can compete, exchange, and connect with peers from across the region. Our partnerships ensure students in Middle and Elementary Schools also have chances to make memories by playing and performing in a variety of environments and communities.

Junior Eagles

Our Junior Eagles sports program invites our youngest athletes to play together on Saturday mornings in a handful of sports like basketball and soccer.
