Grade 2 Class Music Parent Presentation

Grade 2 students have been inquiring into how music is created with pattern. Early in the year we explored pattern in rhythm and more recently we have explored pattern in pitch. The culmination of this unit is student collaboration in groups to create their own pattern compositions.

The 2nd grade classes will be sharing their compositions with their parents during class music on the following dates at 11:00 - 11:25 AM in the Elementary School Music Room

  • Grade 2 A: Monday, 6 March 11:00 AM
  • Grade 2 B: Tuesday, 7 March 11:00 AM
  • Grade 2 C: Wednesday, 8 March 11:00 AM
  • Grade 2 D: Thursday, 9 March 11:00 AM

Our elementary athletes came home with victory!

A team of 36 athletes and 3 adults went to Sandford International School last Saturday, 18 February, to compete in the city track and field meet. Five schools, including ICS took part in the meet. Our super athletes, in their custom made t-shirt provided by our athletics office, put-up a fantastic performance in all age and gender categories to bring back their long standing championship title that they lost last year. They also exhibited the best sportsmanship spirit that was noted and rewarded by the organizing school.

Officiating of the various events was done by all participating schools collaboratively. ICS officiated the long jump, and at this juncture, we would like to acknowledge the hard work of our own Mr. Ralston for helping out with the long jump. Coach Azeb and coach Zelalem, for their excellent organizational skill in holding the team together and helping every athlete participate in their respective events. It was a morning well spent.

Sincere thanks goes to all the parents, who came to support our team as well as help out with some of the events that needed extra hand.
