Parent input on class assignments for 2017 -18: (All requests must be submitted to the ES Office on or before May 12, 2017 in order to be considered)
The elementary school is giving parents the opportunity to provide input to help us develop class list for the 2017 – 18 school year. This “Parent Input” form is available in hard copy form in the ES office and
available to be downloaded from our website.
We go to great efforts to ensure that children are placed in the right classroom based on their academic, social and emotional needs. Classroom placements are also balanced upon class size and gender. The factors that we must consider in organizing our classrooms are numerous. Our placement policy is based on our experience in the education system and our work with children.
Parent requests are considered, yet not as the first or only priority. Please note that in light of these considerations, we are not able to accommodate every parent request.
Student class assignments are completed by the end of each school year and are listed on the end of year report card.

For the next three weeks students will be taking the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment. This assessment measures academic growth throughout the school year, and from year to year in the areas of Reading and Math. These assessments are approximately one hour in length each. There is no preparation that should be done at home, other than making sure your child is well rested and eats a healthy breakfast and lunch. The teacher will communicate your child's assessment schedule.
