Rethink - teaching | Lead - change | Personalize - learning | Release - learners | Impact- lives

At ICS, we look for teachers who are about learning and can create excitement for learning within our students. We look for teachers who can individualize strategies to inspire all of our students. We look for people who are dedicated to contributing to our community and to ensuring our students learning at high levels.

At ICS we collaborate through Professional Learning Communities, (PLCs), that ask 4 essential questions to ensure that we are teaching so that our students are learning:

  • What is it we expect students to learn?
  • How will we know when they have learned it?
  • How will we respond when they don’t learn?
  • How will we respond when they already know it?

We have high expectations and standards with many opportunities for growth and development. Teachers at ICS enjoy a highly competitive salary and excellent benefits, including worldwide healthcare, furnished housing, retirement and on-going professional learning.

Most of our professional teaching and staff positions will be filled through international recruitment. ICS Addis uses the International School Services (ISS) and Search Associates job fairs as a primary means for teacher recruitment. Our positions may also be advertised with TIE, CIS and the IBO. ALL CANDIDATES MUST APPLY THROUGH OUR ONLINE APPLICATION PORTAL.

Please be aware that we receive hundreds of applications between October and February. We will reply in brief to each applicant and every application will be reviewed by an administrator. Qualified applicants may receive further correspondence.

Child Protection – Safe Recruitment Practices

As part of our recruitment practices at our school, employees are required to possess and validate appropriate qualifications for all positions.  For all potential hires, we communicate directly with previous references to ensure due diligence within the recruitment process. Once at school, ICS has a professional code of conduct, including Child Protection training that is reviewed with employees and signed annually.

Recruiting Scams:

Unfortunately, there are recruiting scams.

Individuals/groups claim to be a reputable school (or assume the identity of an existing, reputable school) and ask teachers and/or administrators seeking overseas employment to send them money to assist in the payment of a work visa, interview or application fees, plane tickets, or other recruitment related costs.  ICS will not ever ask an applicant for money or fees.

If you have been asked by an international school to send money to cover such costs, you are probably the target of an elaborate scam.  Be aware that these fraudulent activities seem to becoming more frequent.  Do not send money or pass on banking information to any school seeking professionals to come work with them. All international candidates are urged to be diligent in investigating potential schools during the recruiting process and prior to signing a contract. Use extreme caution if you have been asked for money or private information.
