Foundational Principles

I would like to extend a heartfelt welcome to the International Community School of Addis Ababa (ICS) and to the 2020-2021 school year. Over the years ICS has served as a reliable partner to the international community in Addis Ababa. Through thick and thin, our commitment has been and will remain to keep your children safe, and to ensure that each child learns and engages at the highest levels. In addition to high academic standards, we are enabling personalized learning experiences for all students from Early Years to Grade 12.  This year, we are doubling down on those commitments.

At the International Community School of Addis Ababa (ICS), you will quickly learn that community matters deeply here and that our diversity is REAL and BEAUTIFUL. We encourage parents, students, teachers and administrators to bring fresh perspectives and experiences. We need them and welcome them. The teachers, administrators and of course our students and parents work hard to make ICS a very warm and friendly community and we all benefit from it.  This is ICS!

We are excited to have your children experience our beautiful campus which has recently been made even more beautiful and green through the addition of a new elementary school building.  This facility is intentionally designed to support our belief that students learn more when they work with others. At ICS we believe that all students can learn at the highest levels and we have selected the best international teachers, created research based practices and designed world class facilities to ensure that all succeed.

Feel free to browse through our pages and discover what ICS is all about.
