Watch as Season 1 Eagles Athletes Compete throughout Africa

Season 1 ICS Eagle athletes are kicking off their largest competitions of the year!

From Thursday to Saturday, our ICS Track & Field, Cross-Country, and Volleyball teams are competing against their peers from seven international schools. The International Schools of Southern and Eastern Africa (ISSEA) Conference championships begin today in Johannesburg, South Africa, and Harare, Zimbabwe.

You can watch all the action live and see schedules for both competitions here:

Volleyball Coach and ICS Activities Director John Kim said he is looking forward to a great weekend for our students both in competition and in connection.

"I’m incredibly impressed by the dedication and grit of our student-athletes this first season," John said. "They show up early, stay late, and work hard every minute they are practicing or competing. It’s been so much fun to see their growth. The ISSEA tournaments are always an enriching experience for not only the high level of competitions but also for the great bonds that students form with others from all across Africa and the world."

Track & Field Coach Matt Taylor agreed.

"We are proud of the sustained progress throughout the season, driven by strong internal competition. Expect a collection of gritty performances from this impressive group. These events are a way for our student-athletes not only to put their hard work on display, but to make connections with international peers from countries and cultures all around the world. These are the moments they will never forget. It's going to be a fantastic weekend."
