Staff Wellness

Among the many goals that ICS has, a top priority is emphasizing the social-emotional health and wellness of our employees. Our staff wellness program, also known as Wellness Wednesdays, includes many activities organized by our Athletics and Activities Office, such as basketball, floor hockey, ground tennis, music, pilates, soccer, table tennis, volleyball, running, and yoga to relieve stress and to help stay fit. These activities also create a sense of belonging and contribute to a positive work environment.

ICS hosted a Staff Wellness Fair on 26 March organized by our Health Office. The Health Office partnered with Silk Road Hospital, International Clinical Laboratories, Sam Vision, and the Swiss Clinic for advisory support. The fair offered the opportunity for employees to receive general medical screenings, blood pressure assessments, and dental and vision exams. The goal was to provide a safe, convenient, and affordable way to access preventative health care for staff without having to leave the school premises.

The aim of the Wellness Fair was to prioritize the health of employees. “We want to focus on preventive healthcare. That is taking care of ourselves before we have a long-term condition along down the road” says Krista Haley our Chief Medical Officer.

The Wellness Fair was a great success with nearly 100 employees taking advantage of the opportunity to stay healthy. The Health Office plans to provide follow-up care and conduct some preventive health training throughout the year. All staff are very appreciative of the support and concern that the ICS Board, Leadership, and Health Office have demonstrated through this initiative.
