New Campus Garden is a Learning Tool in Environmental Science Exploration
Gardens are the newest addition to our high school grounds.
Environmental science students and members of several extracurricular clubs got their hands dirty learning about ecosystems, agriculture, and the social impact of growing your own food.
Students got their hands dirty, as they took part in the construction, planting, and harvesting processes. The idea, as students and teachers explain in the video above, is to replace theoretical lessons with practical ones, creating scientific investigations using the garden as a key learning tool.
The not-so-fun side? A controversial investigation into how the "beloved" cats on campus impact biodiversity at ICS.
Check out the construction and learning process as told by our science classes above!
