Musician Inspires ICS with Messages of Positivity & Hope

Luc Reynaud is the brother of ICS Addis Deputy Principal Dani Reynaud.
He is also a world-renowned musician and performer who travels the world to inspire, help people, and spread positivity.
In May, Luc was on the ICS campus working with Early Years, Elementary, and High School students. By leading assemblies, visiting classrooms, and speaking with students, Luc brought excitement about music and delivered important life lessons about mental health — and he demonstrated how he can serve humanity through his art.
“Yes people need food and housing, but they also need psychological wellness,” ICS Music Teacher Janine Plunkett said about Luc’s message. “Luc showed our students that music and art can help uplift and give hope to people who are suffering. He connected teenage wellness to how students speak to themselves, and many of our students sang along when Luc shared his positive, uplifting music.”

According to Luc’s website, he launched an empowerment program called TALK BETTER, a title inspired by his new song about talking better to yourself. This program focuses on the immediate and life-long benefits a young person can have by developing a positive relationship with self. He is also the co-founder of The Goodness Tour, which led him and his team to refugee camps, conflict areas, and disaster zones to host song-writing workshops, therapeutic concerts, and creative therapy.
"I was lit up and inspired while getting to interact with the ICS students. I felt energized by their big hearts and brilliant minds that are leading us into the future," Luc said of his visit. "My hope is that they came away with a sense of enthusiasm for self-discovery. A drive to investigate what moves their hearts, how they want to serve others, and how their own minds work. Also the great life benefit of a having positive and limitless cheerleader from within!"
ICS musicians not only had the opportunity to sing with Luc and understand how music can be used for service and positive impact, they also had the chance to dig deep into song-writing and musical production with the world-renowned musician.
“The students connected deeply with Luc’s travels and projects, and it helped them see a real world example of how careers in music, the arts, and service can be successful. They discussed how Luc measures his success as a musician and a performer, and they also got to see a professional making a positive impact on the world.”
Luc continues to travel the world offering his TALK BETTER program and projects to schools and people around the world. Visit his website to find out more about his work and stay tuned for another visit to ICS next year!
