Join us in Celebrating our ICS Nurses During Nurses Week!

The week of 6 May is National Nurses Week. As we recognize and celebrate our nurses, here is a brief blurb about each of them. If you see our nurses around campus in the coming days, please join us in thanking them and celebrating their valuable contributions to our school community.

Hiwot was born in Addis Ababa and has been a nurse for 13 years. She has worked in the intensive care unit (ICU) and pediatrics. She is married and has one daughter, with whom she enjoys spending time cooking. She is very excited to be a part of the ICS community.

Elsa was born in Addis Ababa and has 16 years of experience in pediatric nursing. She has one daughter, Amnen, who is three years old. Elsa enjoys traveling to see many countries, and her favorite thing to do is swimming and watching movies. She also enjoys working in the ICS community.

Taffy has been working as a nurse for the last 17 years, and this is her 14th year at ICS Addis. She is blessed with a beautiful family. Taffy and her husband have three energetic boys. She loves spending time with patients, enjoys treating them, and seeing them feel better. Her hobbies include traveling, exploring new places, trying new food, cooking, and baking.

Krista has been a registered nurse for 26 years, serving in a variety of clinical capacities including leadership and education. Krsita has lived in Ethiopia for nine years and this is her 4th year at ICS serving as the Chief Medical Officer and a Designated Safeguarding lead.  She is married and has three wonderful adult sons, who are currently living in the United States. She enjoys nature, watching movies, playing games, and spending time with friends – especially while enjoying chocolate and coffee. She thinks it is a pleasure and privilege to be a part of such a wonderful ICS community, and she absolutely loves getting to care for each student, staff, and ICS community member.
