@ICSAddis_Service Promotes Student-run Impact Projects

A new Instagram account is working to promote the impact of student community service.

As part of the ICS Addis High School learning experience, students lead dozens of service initiatives focused on subjects including environmental sustainability, gender equality, access to education, wildlife protection, promoting literacy, and more. Focus on Service is a student-run club which celebrates the work of the students and the impacts their having in their local and global communities.

Focus on Service club members also help to fundraise for all of the service clubs by hosting events, creating campaigns, and promoting initiatives. Now, they’re using digital media to take their work to the next level.

The students launched an Instagram account @ICSAddis_Service to showcase the work to a wider audience.

"Focus on Service wanted to promote meaningful service actions and initiatives of students at ICS,” said Grade 11 student Sophia Wang, one of the club organizers. “We aim to display the incredible work of service groups, extend their voices to further communities, and encourage more individuals with similar values to initiate service plans globally."
