ICS Athletics & Academics Shine in Global Competitions

ICS High School students took to the global stage last week, as they competed in football, tennis, golf, and STEAM tournaments across the African continent.
The International Schools of Southern and Eastern Africa (ISSEA) Conference championships are the culminating events of the year for the eight participating international schools. We want to congratulate all of our student-athletes, competitors, and coaches who represented ICS Eagles with determination and sportsmanship.

Below is a brief summary of the events and results:
ISSEA Football Championships: Hosted at ICS Addis, the entire community came together to put on an incredible display of spirit and friendship, as we hosted the conference's largest athletics tournament. Student-led live-stream broadcasting, world-class health care, PTO community events, state-of-the-art facilities set-up, and logistics came together to create a special and memorable event for all ISSEA participants. The ICS boys placed 4th in the tournament, and the girls placed 7th. Watch a highlight video from the tournament here and check out a photo album here.
ISSEA STEAM: 15 students competed in science, technology, engineerings, arts, and math at the American International School of Lusaka in Zambia. Students took part in sailboat and rocket design and testing, a robotics tournament, math competitions, a science quiz, and a digital animation competition. Overall, ICS came away with 2nd place, winning the individual math and the practical math, while narrowly missing out on 1st place in the science quiz, robotics, and the math quiz.
ISSEA Golf: Six ICS golfers traveled to Nairobi, Kenya, for three days of golf competition. Our students demonstrated a high level of sportsmanship and spirit throughout. On an individual level, Dagem placed 2nd in the Boys' A Division, while Evelyn placed 2nd in the Girls' B Division.
ISSEA Tennis: The American International School of Mozambique was home to the ISSEA Tennis competition, with ICS representing in the singles and doubles competitions for boys and girls. All of our athletes showed commitment to the game and to the ICS spirit. Congratulations to the boys team, which placed third overall.
ICS Addis will host two ISSEA tournaments in the 2024-2025 school year. In Season 1, we will host the Track & Field Championships. In Season 3, we will host STEAM.
