ICS Announces Candidacy for Personalized IB Graduation Pathway

ICS Announces Candidacy for Personalized IB Graduation Pathway

ICS Addis is excited to announce that we will be offering a new International Baccalaureate graduation pathway.

The IB Career-related Programme (IB CP) offers students in Grades 11 and 12 the opportunity to pursue studies related to their future careers. Students who have a specific interest in a given industry or area of expertise will have the opportunity to jump-start their speciality with a project-based curriculum and pathway that is similar to the ICS Inception Program with the international credibility of the IB.

For more information about the CP at ICS Addis, check out this slideshow presentation from a parent meeting hosted by our High School leadership.

"The decision to begin offering the Career-related Programme is in line with our commitment to providing students a wide range of personalized and rigorous academic opportunities while ensuring the sustainability and alignment of our programs from Early Years through Grade 12," High School Principal James Brightman said. "This is the next step in the evolution of our world-class educational programs which will set students up with the diploma, experience, and skills to thrive in their futures beyond ICS."

Based on the program’s requirements, CP students will take a minimum of two IB Diploma Programme courses, undertake independent and collaborative projects, build connections with organizations and businesses in ICS community, and participate in an internship. In its first year, ICS will begin by offering a business-focused track in the CP and then, in subsequent years, expand offerings to areas which may include IT, sustainable development, international relations, and beyond.

Grade 11 students who are currently taking Inception will be able to finish their two-year program at ICS and graduate with an accredited diploma which will set them up for success in university.

We are very excited to expand our offerings for ICS High School students and give them even more opportunities to find a pathway that will help them achieve their goals."
