ICS Addis Welcomes World's Top Universities to Ethiopia

More than 6,500 people registered for the EdUSA University Fair on the ICS Addis campus on 7 September.

Nearly 40 universities were present at the fair, which was hosted in partnership with the US Embassy in Addis Ababa. It is one of many college and university fairs hosted at ICS each year, which serve as a vital platform for students and the wider Addis Ababa community to explore their higher education options, connecting with top-tier universities, and specialized schools that align with their unique interests.

This year’s fair featured prestigious institutions such as Harvard University, Columbia University, Arizona State University, and Rutgers University, among many others. In addition to these household names, schools with specialized programs like Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Hult International Business School were also present, offering students a range of opportunities to consider.

The ICS Future Planning program starts in Grade 9, providing students with opportunities to get to know themselves and discover their interests and strengths. 

“We provide students with personalized support as they  explore possible career choices that will fit their individual strengths,” High School Counselor Danielle Chamberlin said. “Student will use the knowledge they gain in the program to choose best-fit university options. These events not only help students discover potential paths but also give them direct access to admissions representatives, ensuring they make informed decisions about their academic futures.”

University fairs and visits provide students with the option to learn about universities they may not have considered or can also confirm their choices as they speak directly to representatives. Students from ICS have had the opportunity to attend amazing post-secondary institutions all over the world, including Dartmouth, Brown, Northeastern, Penn State, and more.
