Home Language Program Celebrates Another Year of Success

ICS Addis celebrated another successful year of its Home Language Program this week.

More than 100 students and 28 volunteers celebrated on the Elementary School rooftop, receiving certificates to honor their work and commitment.

"There was a beautiful energy and community spirit, and we are looking for another amazing school year for in 2024-2025," Teacher Pascaline Dacharry said.

The ICS Home Languages Program offers students the chance to speak in their mother tongue languages and meets after school for conversations and activities in German, French, Italian, Swahili, and Amharic.

"Home languages are part of who we are, our identity," ICS student Joris said. "They connect learners with their family, their home country, their culture. Not only that, they are an essential part of learning."
