Elementary Artists Create a Legacy in the Library

Congratulations to the Elementary School artists who contributed to their work to the new library bag design!
The ICS Addis Library received its new stock of bags, which are used daily by students to carry their books around campus. In a collaborative effort between the Arts teachers, the ICS Library, and the ICS Communications Team at the end of last school year, students in Early Years 5 to Grade 4 had the opportunity to create artwork based on three themes:
- I love reading!
- The ICS Library
- Books take me on an adventure!
The winning designs were selected by a committee and printed on the bags over the holiday break! The print also has a note which credits the artists for their work, so that they can be recognized for years to come.
“When elementary students were invited to create a design for the ICS Library book bags, they took time to think about what they loved about reading and communicate that through pictures,” Design, Creativity, and Innovation (DCI) Teacher Ross Connelly said. “They explored and fine-tuned their designs in their sketchbooks and submitted the ones that most inspired them, in the hopes of passing their love of books on to future students.”
Congratulations to the following students, listed in their grade level from the 2022-2023 school year:
