Early Years Parents' Virtual Bookclub

Early Years Parents' Virtual Bookclub

We had our first Early Years Parents Virtual Book Club facilitated by EY Coordinator Laura Jo Evans, and ES Counselor Heidi Sanchez on 3 December with a morning and evening session.

The book club explored topics raised in the book, “How To Talk So Little Kids Will Listen, A Survival Guide To Life With Children Ages 2 - 7” written by Joanna Faber and Julie King, and summarized top tips and support on real-life examples on what parents face with their children on a daily basis.

With a small number of participants on Zoom, the session was intimate and the conversations were rich.

What can I try when nothing seems to work? How can I establish and adjust routines around health and hygiene? These were just some of the questions raised by parents in the session.

The common goal of all parents that participated in the parenting session was to get additional support and practical parenting ideas that could be used at home. It’s no wonder they say “it takes a village”.

Please contact Heidi Sanchez at heidi.sanchez@icsaddis.org or Laura Jo Evans at laura.evans@icsaddis.org for your ideas for the next parenting session.
