Director of Innovation Aims to Enhance Personalization & Impact

ICS is a global leader in international education.

Based on the latest neuro-scientific research about how people learn, our school offers unique, purpose-built educational experiences for students, as well as world-class implementation of the International Baccalaureate.

This year, ICS welcomes Dr. Christopher Cowherd as our new executive director of learning and innovation. Dr. Chris is committed to ensuring each student, and the school community as a whole, is continuously improving and achieving at their highest potential.

Dr. Chris brings decades of international teaching and educational leadership experience to ICS. He prioritizes personalized learning, believing each student’s learning journey is unique and should be tailored specifically to their individual needs. He embraces the evolution of teaching and encourages teachers to try new methods with a goal of continuously improving the experience for ICS learners. Dr. Chris also aims to bring alignment among each section of the school, working in the Office of Learning to complete our MYP authorization and begin offering the full IB Continuum, as well as foster a holistic school-wide approach to academic learning and global citizenship.

“Just like it says in the ICS Mission, we want to empower our students to be active directors of their learning. We want to coach them through their mistakes, help them reflect to improve, and prepare them for a future beyond school,” Dr. Chris said. “Alongside academics, we are supporting students to develop their identity, find their place in their local and global communities, and build a path toward success for their future selves.”
