Collaboration and creative thinking take center stage at ISTA Festival

Eighteen of our enthusiastic performing arts students returned from an unforgettable three-day theater festival in Arusha, Tanzania where they immersed themselves in vibrant workshops and embraced new forms of storytelling.
The festival, hosted by the International Schools Theatre Association, was one that fostered creativity and cultural discovery, offering students a unique opportunity to grow artistically and personally.

Students visited the Cultural Arts Makumira Training Centre, where they participated in workshops exploring Tanzanian dance, drumming, and expressive performance.
These immersive sessions encouraged students to step outside their comfort zones and connect deeply with local artistic traditions.

Throughout the festival, our students demonstrated impressive risk-taking, collaboration and creative thinking. They engaged enthusiastically with peers from other African international schools, forming new friendships and sharing ideas across cultures.

Surrounded by the breathtaking natural beauty of northern Tanzania, students also had time to appreciate the stunning landscapes and peaceful environment that made this trip even more special.
This enriching experience has left a lasting impact, inspiring confidence, curiosity, and a deeper appreciation for the arts and global community.
