Bloom: HS Club Empowers Community One Cycle at a Time

A student-run club is working to empower women with knowledge and supplies.

BLOOM is driven by a vision of creating a healthy, knowledgeable, and well-resourced community for women and girls. They have hosted a series of conversations and presentations about human body awareness and menstrual health both within and beyond the ICS community.
In collaboration with MELA For Her, an Ethiopian non-profit focused on sustainable menstrual solutions, BLOOM hosted a booth at the recent Community Market on campus and raised 24,000 ETB. The money will provide 60 girls with reusable menstrual pads, promoting sustainable, and hygienic practices. The BLOOM team is grateful for all of the amazing community support.
The BLOOM team also hosted informative sessions for ICS Grade 8 students about menstrual cycles and puberty. They aimed to break down stigmas and empower both boys and girls with accurate information.
By empowering students to take action, BLOOM is creating a ripple effect of kindness and compassion. Together, we can build a brighter future for all.
