Activites & Athletics News, Mick Cooper, Athletics and Activities Director

Our athletes returned after an intense 3 days of competition in Tanzania and Zambia. In Basketball, the boys finished 4th while our girls took 3rd place which is our best school finish for several years. Reports all suggest it was so very close to making the final game in the girls’ competition.

Facebook page at ISSEA Basketball 2017 for some great pictures and links to game coverage

Boys play their ISSAAA semi-final at Bingham Tuesday at 17.30 with the final on Friday at ICS (also at 17.30)

Girls play their Final against Bingham here Friday at 4.00

U16 Girls also play their semi-final Tuesday in the gym vs Sandford

Rugby--For the first time ICS featured as a team and the group of 12 managed to achieve 3rd place in the ISSEA touch tournament and came home with the ISSEA fair play award. The tournament took place in mud and rain which made it very interesting for our players. Facebook page is ISSEA Rugby Zambia 2017 where some spectacular photos can also be seen.

U14 Soccer--Our Girls and Boys teams will have their final games this week. ICS will be hosting the boys’ final Thursday. Please check the whiteboard for up to date information and locations as final teams are decided.

Another full week this week to enjoy. Next week, there will be no Friday or Saturday ASA due to the school holiday.

International Trips

February is a very busy trip month and we will have Art/Drama and Band/Choir going out in two weeks for their ISSEA cultural conventions. There is a trip meeting for those traveler's Wednesday February 15th at 2.05 in the gym. US embassy bus riders should plan on taking the second bus home or make alternative plans.

Student Athletes who have just returned from Basketball and Rugby need to drop off their ICS Travel bags to the activity office this week please.

Have a great week!
